* Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

The 2009 Laser 2 World Championships will be held at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA). Have you seen the Laser 2 on the top of their website? Wink
As you might have heard, the sailing venue for the London Olympic Games 2012 is the WPNSA. For this occasion a completely new harbor was built, which was recently completed (movie). And we are going to sail there!

* How do the facilities look like?

This is a report that Fred gave after his first visit to the WPNSA:
'Not having been to the venue before I approached with an open mind. It is very impressive and is going to be an ideal venue.
The main building is on two levels with changing, toilet and numerous lecture/office facilities on the ground floor with access directly onto the boat park area. Also on the ground floor is a very large workshop/boat area capable of taking a fully rigged boat that Nigel says is bigger than the one at Warnemunde (ideal for measuring if a wet day).
On the first floor is a dry restaurant with bar and balcony looking over the sailing area and a wet cafeteria also with bar which will provide food from 0800 to 1800.
Outside the dinghy park is immediately adjacent to the centre and the two launching ramps lead off directly off of this.
The town of Weymouth is about 5 mins away and the reccommended campsite is about 10 mins away.'
